Is it "fair" to pay everyone in an organization the same wage, regardless of individual performance?

  • Greetings, I have 2 comments within one posting. It is fair if the prospective employee knows about the company's policy in regard to salaries before signing up. And...while an employee's performance can, and should be, rewarded, it does not have to be in hard cash. Some people may appreciate time off, stability, group rates at special events, etc.
    Respectfully,

  • It is not fair because as humans after some time we get demotivated if we are putting in so much effort and do not see the results in terms of finance. However, if the employee knew at onset the organizations policies, then it may be ok.
